FIC/2 combines a 16px whole-image root, 64px fine blocks, and 256px checkpoint blocks. The viewport chooses the cheapest useful branches. The same image is also encoded as a conventional 256px compressed tile pyramid, and the router keeps the baseline whenever FIC/2 grows more than one percent larger.

What this page can show: live browser results for one image, one crop, one machine. The committed Node harness compares warm-system package size, incremental crop payload, cold-object crop bytes, and repeated decode timings.

What it cannot claim yet: broad superiority over image codecs or tile systems. The current pass is a public synthetic fixture. A photographic corpus, sealed holdout, decoder-size accounting, and independent-machine reproduction remain required.
